The head coach of the UNBC Northern Timberwolves women's basketball team is holding an identification camp at the Northern Sport Centre. And, a significant number of the 25 players under evaluation picked up their court skills right here in Prince George.

Local Grade 12s at the camp are Danielle Steel and Piper Hoekstra of D.P. Todd, Nicole Schlick of Duchess Park, Morgan Reid of PGSS and twin sisters Jordan and Sydney Hall of College Heights.

Murdoch said "lots" of local Grade 10s are also showcasing their talents.

Sessions today go from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

UNBC men's head coach Todd Jordan is also eyeing a potential recruit this weekend. Billy Cheng, a point guard from the triple-A provincial champion R.C. Palmer Griffins, is in town. Cheng was a second-team all-star at provincials, which saw his Richmond-based Griffins beat the Vancouver College Fighting Irish 71-63 after they erased a 19-2 first-quarter deficit.
