A special gathering for former Prince George Mohawks and Vanderhoof Bears hockey star Ken Clay is being held today in Vanderhoof.
Clay, now in his 80s, skated for the two Cariboo Hockey League senior men's teams during his playing career. He's credited with being the inventor of the hockey visor, which he developed after a high stick caught him in the left eye while he was a member of the Bears in 1963-64. Clay lost vision in the eye and created the visor a month later while in hospital in Vancouver.
The get-together goes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Village Inn.
