After Week 1 in the CFL picks game:
Ted Clarke 2-2
Peter James 4-0
Sheri Lamb 2-2
Mark Nielsen 2-2
Winnipeg Blue Bombers (0-1) at Montreal Alouettes (1-0)
Tonight (4 p.m. TSN)
Clarke - no picks this week; on holiday
James - The Blue Bombers couldn't hold on against the Alouettes with a home crowd behind them in Week 1 and their task will be that much tougher this week in Montreal. Pick: Als by nine.
Lamb - Payback time. The Als spoiled the party as Winnipeg christened their new stadium last week, but the game was much closer than anticipated and the Blue Bombers snag a last-second victory on Montreal turf. Pick: Bombers by two.
Nielsen - no picks this week; on holiday
Toronto Argonauts (1-0) at B.C. Lions (0-1)
Tonight (7 p.m. TSN)
James - The Lions defence underachieved in Week 1, but the expected return of LB Solomon Elimimian should help stabilize the defensive dozen; the Argos struck early in last week's win over Hamilton, but the offence petered out in the second half. Pick: Lions by four.
Lamb - After a pitiful effort in Calgary the Lions rebound in front of their home fans; the Argos were able to muster fourth-quarter heroics against Hamilton but they won't be able to stop a much more experience Lions squad. Pick: Lions by seven.
Calgary Stampeders (1-0) at Saskatchewan Roughriders (1-0)
Friday (6 p.m. TSN)
James - Both teams looked great in Week 1, but the Stampeders had a higher degree of difficulty against B.C.; Saskatchean needs to find a way to slow down Calgary RB Jon Cornish. Pick: Stamps by three.
Lamb - Expect a tight battle as both teams look for the early-season edge in the West, but the Riders will use the always rowdy home crowd to their advantage. Pick: Riders by six.
Edmonton Eskimos (0-1) at Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-1)
Sunday (2 p.m. TSN)
James - The Tiger-Cats offence showed no let up under new head coach Kent Austin, but the defence leaves a lot to be desired; the Eskimos were downright dreadful in Week 1. Pick: Hamilton by six.
Lamb - Hamilton looked good in a disappointing opening week loss in Toronto, while the Eskimos were putrid at home; the Ti-Cats give the fans of Guelph something to cheer about. Pick: Ti-Cats by 14.
