The 19th annual Prince George Special Olympics Charity Golf Classic raised a record $62,000 over the weekend in support of Special Olympics athletes and their programs.
Volunteer fundraising coordinators Jeanne and Andy Clough were thrilled with the outcome.
"It takes the whole year to organize and raise funds through this event and at times we were concerned we'd fall short of our goal to raise at least what we did in previous years," Jeanne Clough said.
The Prince George Special Olympics Charity Golf Classic is hosted by Cariboo-Prince George MP Dick Harris. To date, the event has raised well over $500,000.
