Cats' kids prominent in loss

The game was already a loss, their best player (Brett Connolly) was on the sidelines for his 55th game on the injury shelf, and their dreams of making the playoffs had already come to a nightmarish conclusion.

Just when you thought it was all doom and gloom for the Prince George Cougars, along came Wilson Dumais, Joshua Smith and Carter Rigby to offer a glimpse of the future.

And if the persistent efforts of these fuzzy-cheeked teens in a 7-2 loss to Everett were any indication, the Cougar kids are going to be alright. On parent and billet night, when the partisan crowd of 1,852 had little to cheer about, the three rookies collaborated on a late-game power play that resulted in a memorable goal.
