Prince George volleyball players Colin Carson and Jordan Foot will head to Gatineau, Que., on Wednesday to try to earn positions on Canada's national B team.
Carson is one of seven setters invited to the tryout camp, having just returned to Canada after playing professional volleyball in Denmark. As a player/coach, Carson helped Gentofte Volley win a pro league championship this season.
Foot is among 12 left side hitters at the national team audition, which got underway on Wednesday.
He just completed his second season in the CIS playing for the Kamloops-based Thompson Rivers WolfPack.
The WolfPack went 9-9 in Canada West play this season and lost to Trinity Western in the first round of playoffs.
If they make the B team, Carson and Foot will move on to Winnipeg for a month-long training camp which begins
May 24.
The team will compete in the World Universiade, July 3-14 in Gwangju, South Korea and will travel to Mexico for the FIVB under-21 world championship, Sept. 11-20.
