The Cariboo Cougars clinched a playoff spot after a two-game road sweep of the North Island Silvertips last weekend.
The Cats beat the Silvertips 6-1 in Courtenay Sunday and 3-2 in Port Alberni Saturday to return to the .500 mark at
17-17-2 on the season.
The Cougars have won three of their last four games.
"The guys are pretty happy about it," said head coach Bryan McLean. "We're right in the middle of the group [standings].
"If we can get a few wins we can move into fourth place. We're just happy we're in the playoffs and we've had some ups and downs this season - it's been more ups lately."
Jesse Roach and Steven Jandric each potted a pair of goals in Sunday's win. Bryan Albee and Colton Thomas also scored singles.
On Saturday, Albee scored the winner with the man-advantage to give the Cougars the 3-2 decision.
His goal, with less than four minutes to play, broke a 2-2 tie.
The Cougars had a 2-0 lead thanks to a pair of goals from Chase Dubois.
The Silvertips rebounded with two quick goals in the third period. Jandric notched assists on both of Albee's goals.
Delfs was in net to earn the win.
The Cougars host the league-leading Okanagan Rockets (29-5-2) this weekend in a pair of games at the newly-renovated Kin 1 rink.
Face-off is at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, with a 10 a.m. game Sunday.
"The Rockets are a really good team. We're pretty excited to see where our game is," said McLean. "They're a playoff team and we'll be ready to play. [Playing at Kin 1] will be pretty cool for our locally-grown players."
The schedule doesn't get any easier for the Cougars after this weekend. They host the second-place Vancouver Northwest Giants March 1 and 2.
