Another Cariboo Cougar is taking his game to the Portland Winterhawks.
The Winterhawks announced Friday that Cougars defenceman Conor MacEachern signed with the Western Hockey League team.
Cougars captain Austin Gray signed with the club earlier in the season.
At six-foot-three, 175 pounds, the 16-year-old MacEachern was a stalwart on the Cougars blueline last season in the B.C. Major Midget Hockey League, collecting four goals and 13 assists in 33 games.
"Conor is a big, mobile defenceman who can play in all situations," said Winterhawks general manager and head coach Jamie Kompon in a written statement. "We're excited that he has decided to sign with us and look forward to watching him develop in Portland."
