Canucks trade Luongo to Florida

Roberto Luongo is headed back to Florida. The Vancouver Canucks have traded their star goalie and two-time Olympic gold medal winner back to the Florida Panthers, nearly eight years after he came to the Vancouver to Florida.

Roberto Luongo is headed back to Florida.

The Vancouver Canucks have traded their star goalie and two-time Olympic gold medal winner back to the Florida Panthers, nearly eight years after he came to the Vancouver to Florida.

In exchange, the Canucks reportedly get another Swedish goaltender in 24-year-old Jacob Markstrom, currently playing with the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage, to join NHL rookie Eddie Lack between the pipes.

Full details have not yet been released on the blockbuster deal.
