Dave Wood said before the Olympics began, he considers his Canadian cross-country ski team the best we've ever had.

Proof was in the pudding Saturday at Callaghan Valley.

Three of the Canadian team leader's skiers -- Ivan Babikov, George Grey and Alex Harvey -- delivered top-10 finishes in the grueling 30-kilometre pursuit and a fourth -- Devon Kershaw -- posted his best-ever Olympic finish, placing 16th in a field of 61.

"We would have been ecstatic to have one guy in the top-10," said Wood, who grew up in Prince George. "Our hope was that the guys would be fighting at the front, but you always realize you might lose one or two because the pace is so hard, but everyone was strong to the end."
