THE CANADIAN PRESS - SOCHI, Russia - Team Canada will play for a second straight gold medal after a 1-0 semifinal win over the United States at the Sochi Olympics.
The Canadians, who beat the U.S. in the final four years ago in Vancouver, will face Sweden in Sunday's gold-medal game.
Jamie Benn had the game's lone goal and Carey Price made it stand, stopping 31 shots.
The Americans and Finns will play for the bronze medal on Saturday.
Canada beat the U.S. in overtime to win the 2010 Olympic men's title in Vancouver.
The Canadian outshot their rivals 37-31.
Canada took a 1-0 advantage into the third and played air-tight defence to keep the Americans at bay. And when he needed to be, Price was solid in goal and was very effective in controlling his rebounds to negate extra scoring opportunities.
The Americans pulled goalie Jonathan Quick for the extra attack with under a minute remaining but couldn't come up with the tying goal.
Benn scored the game's only goal at 1:41 of the second when he deflected Jay Bouwmeester's wrist shot from the point past Quick.
Sweden edged Finland 2-1 in an earlier semifinal contest.
