Call out for the Polars' Wall

Since 2009, PGSS has recognized the school's sport history on its wall of fame.

It's once again putting the call out to recognize past athletic achievements by former Polars who will be honoured at its athletics banquet in mid-June.

"It's a way to recognize athletes and different people from the community," said Rob Wood, PGSS's athletic director. "We also want to show the student population all they people who came before them and the history of the school, to show what these people have gone on to do."

The wall of fame currently has 14 inductees and includes sports and athletes such as volleyball, basketball, rugby, soccer and track and field.

PGSS is searching for coaches and athletes who either attended the school or represented the Polars in a playing, coaching or managing position in sports or were sports builders and associated with the school.

It's been quite the season for the Polars.

The Polars senior boys soccer side and both the senior girls and boys basketball teams qualified for their respective high school provincial championships this year.

Anyone who would like to nominate someone or a team for the wall of fame is asked to submit it by the end of May.

More information can be found at: https://sites.google.com/site/pgssathletics/home

Submissions can be emailed to [email protected].
