Prince George biathletes from the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club took aim at the medal podium and nailed that target both days at last weekend's North American Cup races at the Canmore Nordic Centre.
Matt Neumann, a six-time Canadian champion, was a double-medalist in the men's category, winning the individual race on Saturday and placing third in Sunday's sprint.
Sarah Beaudry was dominant in the junior women's category winning the sprint and finishing second in the individual race. Arthur Roots just missed a medal in the junior men's individual race, finishing fourth. Roots went on to place ninth in the sprint. Neumann, Beaudry and Roots live and train in Canmore.
Emily Dickson won the youth women's sprint and was third in the individual race, while Claire Lapointe placed second in the senior girls sprint, after a sixth-place individual result Saturday.
The Caledonia club sent five biathletes in the senior boys category, including Bobby Kreitz (11th in individual, 18th in sprint), Josiah Fisher (18th sprint, 24th individual), Logan Sherba, 27th sprint, 28th individual), Mark Hartley (26th sprint, 29th individual) and Colton McDougall (32nd in both races).
The Caledonia team is coached by Allie and Bryan Dickson.
Sunday's sprint races were qualifying events for the national championships in Charlo, N.B., March 11-16.
