In the gold-medal final of the Omineca Source for Sports peewee tier 4 tournament held at Kin 2 and 3 arenas on the weekend, the Bruins tied the game with the Houston Flyers at 1-1 when Devin Anderson broke Matt Siemens shutout bid with 39.4 seconds left to force overtime Sunday. The extra period solved nothing and the teams went to a shootout where Spencer Brown scored to give the Bruins a 2-1 win.

Jake Sibernagel gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead in the first period.

In the semifinal match ups Saturday, the Bruins slipped past Mackenzie 7-4 while Siemens shutout the host Prince George Fortwood Homes Cougars 3-0 to advance to the championship game.

In the bronze-medal game, Prince George blanked the Mackenzie Parker Industrial Knights 8-0. Josh Fielding earned the shutout while the Cougars received goals from eight different scorers - Colin Desrocher, Tyler Braaten, Zach Swanson, Ashton Kraska, Logan Vennberg, Tyler Lindstrom, Quinten Astorino and Ryan Hampe.

The Cougars posted a 4-1 record in the tournament with a 3-0 record in pool play. After opening the tournament Friday with a 10-3 win over the Fort St. James Stars, the Cougars went on to beat the Quesnel Thunder 7-0 before wrapping up the pool play Saturday with a 3-1 win over the Knights.

Also on Sunday, the Chetwynd Giants took fifth place with a 7-5 win over the Fraser Lake Hawks while Quesnel beat Fort St. James 9-6 in the seventh place game.
