Boschman brilliant in Quesnel

Her horseshoes weren't magnetized, but they may as well have been. Ida Boschman was simply that good at the Quesnel Billy Barker Days horseshoe pitching tournament, held on the weekend in the Gold Pan City.

Ida Boschman was simply that good at the Quesnel Billy Barker Days horseshoe pitching tournament, held on the weekend in the Gold Pan City. Boschman finished first in all three divisions she entered -- senior ladies, mixed A and seniors mixed A -- and her ringer percentage ranged from 44.95 to 50.74. In games played Saturday and Sunday, Boschman's overall record was 14-1.

Boschman was accompanied by her husband, Herb. He wasn't quite as successful, with a third-place finish in senior men's 40-foot and fourth-place results in men's A and men's C.
