Jarrett Bonn knew he had won his second consecutive street-stock class points championship before he arrived at PGARA Speedway.

The 29-year-old driver from Fort St. John held an insurmountable 90-point lead on his rival drivers prior to Saturday's races. Bonn didn't even race in the main event after a collision forced him to drop out of the heat half way through the race.

For Bonn, the points trophy was just the icing on the cake after etching his name in the PGARA record books with the fastest time at 17.910 for street stocks. He set the new mark during the August

invitational weekend.

The Tri-Cities is a series where drivers compete at the Prince George, Quesnel and Williams Lake tracks. Bonn has a slight lead over Prince George's Steve Jefferson heading into the final race of the season on Sept. 21 in Quesnel.

The PGARA points championship in street stocks became a foregone conclusion after the car driven by Chris Arronge and Aaron Conn was wrecked on the first night of the invitational. The Arronge and Conn team had earned 131 points. Jerry Gascon's win Saturday in the heat pulled him into a second place tie for the season with the duo.

Kurtis Blake won the rookie hornets class trophy, finishing the season with 102 points. His teammate Matt Simon was second with 70 and Tori Parent was third at 63.
