Prince George's BMX club is seeking financial support from the city to complete the Supertrak BMX start hill and track rebuild.
A delegation will make a presentation to city council on Monday asking for $42,660 in support, according to a report prepared by the club. The total cost of the new start gate and track upgrade was estimated at $147,199. Sponsors have supported the club with $115,620.
According to the club the new gate will be safer to operate, offer an updated course and will provide new opportunities for local athletes and tourism.
In addition, the upgraded track would provide opportunities for race hosting.
