Six skaters from the Prince George Blizzard Speed Skating Club met or exceed expectations at the Can Am Long Track event at the Calgary Olympic Oval, Nov. 17 to 20.
Morgan Swan, Carolina Hiller and Lucas Hiller all made their time standards to qualify for the junior long track nationals in Saskatoon, Feb. 3 to 5, while Nicholas Hiller, Rylan Gaudet and Carley Budac skated to new personal bests in most of their distances.
The competition in Calgary helped BC provincial team coaches determine how its skaters were progressing, as the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George loom closer.
