Big Guy Lake ruled the ice at the 49th annual Quilchena Braves Moccasin Hockey Tournament in Merritt on the weekend.
The Big Guy Lake men's club - stocked with several Prince George players - defeated Ashcroft 2-1 in Sunday's championship game. That win was one of four on Sunday for Big Guy Lake, which had been knocked to the back side of the draw after a 4-1 loss to Ashcroft on Saturday night. That defeat came after a 5-1 opening-game victory against Invermere.
Other Sunday wins for Big Guy Lake were against Chase (6-2), Vancouver (8-0) and Williams Lake (7-0).
Big Guy Lake players Allen Billy, Tyler Shantz, Chad Ghostkeeper and Tyrell Turgeon were chosen as all-stars.
Big Guy Lake will be in Fort St. James Feb. 24-25 for the Jordan Marshall Memorial Tournament.
