It was a silver rush instead of gold, but the players and coaches will take it.

The Prince George Rush, an 18-and-over ringette team sponsored by Ray's Stucco, skated to a silver medal at the provincial A championship tournament in Vernon on the weekend. In the final game, the Rush took on Kelowna and fell 8-6.

In round-robin play, the Rush posted a 3-1 record and then beat Surrey in the playoff semifinals.

The team was backstopped by the goaltending of Stephanie Bernier. Other team members are Nicole Crandell, Lisa Weatherill, Stephaney Thompson, Caitlin Zacharias, Iida Kaskinen, Justine Lamothe, Aimee Qualizza, Amanda Asay, Saynia Pickering and Rory Bird.

Coaches are Madeleine Crandell, Art Lamothe and Brian Crandell.

Also at provincials, Prince George's U19 and U14 teams both finished with 1-3 records, while the U16 club went 0-4.
