The Prince George Integris Junior Cougars finished up with a 1-5 record Sunday at the Kamloops International Bantam Hockey Tournament (KIBHT) .
The Tier 2 bantam team, coached by former Calgary Flames prospect Ryan Howse, lost a pair of playoff squeakers by 2-1 counts -- to the Richmond Blues on Saturday night and the Calgary Northstar Sabres Sunday morning. Matthew Macsemniuk was the Prince George goalscorer in each of those games.
Combined with a 7-0 loss earlier Saturday to the Okanagan Hockey Academy prep team, the Cougars completed the playoff round at 0-3.
The Cougars' lone victory came Friday when they topped the Victoria Racquet Club 7-2. Garret Anderson and Cory Cunningham each scored two goals for the Cougars, while Macsemniuk, Alex Nimmo, and Braeden Young also scored. Matthew Siemens recorded the victory in goal.
The Cougars opened with a 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Thunderbirds. Nimmo notched both goals for Prince George. Matthew Marotta was the lone Cougar goalscorer in a 5-1 loss to the Pursuit of Excellence academy team. Seth Lapre was the Prince George goalie in the first two games.
In the championship game Sunday afternoon, Delta Academy Wild defeated OHA Prep 5-3.
