Four teams from the Prince George Minor Lacrosse Association travelled to Calgary on the long weekend where the bantam B Posse won the bronze medal.
The Posse posted a 3-1 record in round-robin play and avenged their only loss to the Washington Stealth by beating the American team 4-3 in overtime to claim the bronze medal. Jake McIntosh had a hat trick in the playoff game, including the overtime winner, while Bobby Legare had a goal and set up his Posse teammate in the extra frame.
In the round robin, the Posse wins were against the Blackfalds Warriors (10-0), Calgary Knights (15-0) and the Denver Elite (10-0).
The midget Prince George Posse had a 3-1 record in the round robin with wins over the Denver Elite (6-2), Calgary Knights (7-3) and Calgary Axemen (12-3). The only loss came against the Washington Jr. Stealth (7-5). In the playoffs, the midget Posse captured fifth place with an 8-1 win. Brogan O'Brien was the team's most valuable player in the playoff round.
In the peewee division, the Posse finished the Canada Day tournament with a 1-2-1 record. The peewee Posse won 13-3 against the Calgary Axemen, while losses were against the Blackfald Warriors (15-1) and Calilax (California) All-stars (13-2). The tie was a 14-14 affair with the Calgary Knights.
The Prince George novice Posse finished the tournament at 2-2. The novice Posse beat the Calgary Knights, 5-3, and the Blackfald Warriors, 6-3, while dropping games against the Strathmore Venom, 6-1, and the Rockeyview Thunder, 11-4.
The next tournament for the four Prince George lacrosse teams is in Port Coquitlam on the July 27 weekend.
