Banks pockets women's 8-ball title

A straight stick and a little chalk on the tip was all Janet Banks needed to sink the competition in the Ann Hoffman Memorial 8-ball tournament.

Banks was the top shooter in a field of 21 in the women's event, while second-place Candy Durocher and third-place Lidia Masini-Pieralli shared the podium at Nellie's Pub in the Northwood Motor Inn.

In the mixed competition, Trevor Lalonde topped a field of 22, with Brian Perry and Burl Vance second and third respectively.

The event was sponsored by the Prince George 8-ball Society.
