A quick start turned into another long night for the Shooters Pub Devils.

A quick start turned into another long night for the Shooters Pub Devils.

The Devils, who were seeking their first win of the Prince George Senior Lacrosse Association season, had a 3-1 lead against the BX Pub Bandits after Monday's first period at the Coliseum. Unfortunately for the Devils, they couldn't maintain the pressure on their opponent and eventually fell 15-6.

The Devils have been a league power for years but are in a rebuilding mode. They saw their record slip to 0-3. The Bandits, meanwhile, improved to 3-1.

In the game, Drew Doig sparked the BX Pub offence with five goals and three assists. His dad, Brett Doig, scored three times and chipped in with two assists. Nick Angus (two goals, five assists), Matt Rochon (two goals, four assists) and Tyler Halladay (one goal, five assists) also had big nights for the winners. Ryan Bellamy and Graham Martin also scored for the Bandits, while goaltender Jamie Thorne made 31 saves.

The Devils got two goals and three assists from Danton Nicholson and a pair of goals from Tony Degans. Liam Barwise and Phil Michel completed the scoring for the Devils, who were held in the game by the goaltending of Steven Brizan. He blocked 37 shots.

The PGSLA season continues Wednesday (8 p.m.) at the Coliseum when the Twisted Cork/Regional Security Stylers (2-1) battle the College Heights Pub Assault (2-0).
