The celebratory suds are on order.

The Dale Roluffs Memorial Trophy is polished and ready to be handed over.

Tonight at the Coliseum (8 p.m. start), the boys from College Heights Pub Assault have to be thinking they'll soon get their hands on that prize, knowing they're one game away from a third consecutive Prince George Senior Lacrosse Association title.

The Assault made that possible Monday night at the Coliseum, downing the Shooters Pub Devils 17-13 in Game 2 of the best-of-five final series.

"It's nice to be there again, we've been fortunate to have our team playing as well as we have been," said Assault goalie Russill Mills.

"The boys have shown a lot of heart considering our last games we've had only nine runners. Maybe it works to our advantage in that our boys get in shape throughout the year because we don't have a deep bench and everybody's running the whole time."

The Devils were ahead 4-1 by the 12-minute mark on Monday but the Assault erased that lead with seven straight goals before the first period ended. As they've done for most of the season, the Assault's terrific trio -- John Makowsky, Dave Jenkins Jr., and Craig Dunfield -- wreaked havoc on the Devils' defence in Game 2, accounting for 10 of the 17 College Heights goals.

Makowsky totalled five goals and four assists, and Jenkins Jr., collected five goals and three assists. Dunfield set up seven scoring plays and picked up two goals.

Dom Sia had three goals and two assists for the Assault.

Danton Nicholson returned to the Shooters lineup after missing Game 1 of the final and found the net four times, while Dryden Barlow finished with three goals. The defensive net set up by Steve Etter, Kevin Cunin, Kyle Bloom and Shawn Ingham limited the damage in front of Mills and Brian Stanley, who came in to play goal in relief of Mills to start the third period.

Stanley is believed to be the only remaining veteran who has played in the PGSLA every year since the league formed in 1991.

If a fourth game is needed, that would be played Thursday night, with Game 5, if needed, scheduled for next Monday.
