Archers impress at provincials

Members of Prince George's Silvertip Archers were on the mark at the B.C. indoor provincial championships. Tony Procter and Spencer Schouwenburg brought gold medals home from the meet, held in Cranbrook.

Members of Prince George's Silvertip Archers were on the mark at the B.C. indoor provincial championships.

Tony Procter and Spencer Schouwenburg brought gold medals home from the meet, held in Cranbrook. Meanwhile, Allaina Procter and Colton Lowen were on target for silver medals.

Tony Proctor -- with 1,182 points out of a possible 1,200 -- claimed his gold in the cadet compound male class. As well, he had the highest single-round score of the tournament, a perfect 120.

As for Schouwenburg, he topped the field in the cub compound male division with a score of 1,153 out of a possible 1,200.

Allaina Procter competed in the cub compound female category, against archers two years older than herself, and finished second with 1,082 points.

Lowen, from Vanderhoof, earned his silver medal in the cadet compound male class. His total was 1,169. During the meet, he had his best-ever single round when he shot 296 out of 300.
