Tofa Fakunle became the third player this week to commit to play with the UNBC Timberwolves men's soccer team in the 2013 CIS season.
The Alberta native will graduate with honours from Calgary Christian high school in June, a facility of about 500 students. Fakunle is a two-time provincial soccer silver medalist and a five-time Calgary tier 1 champion with the Calgary Foothills Soccer Club and a provincial champion. Fakunle will play either midfield or striker for the T-wolves.
UNBC head coach Alan Alderson said he knew he'd want to recruit Fakunle for university soccer after coaching him with the Alberta under-16 provincial team.
"His enthusiasm, energy, passion and charisma are inspiring and I am so thrilled to be able to add a player with his personality to our program at a time when we are laying down the foundation for who we want to be as a program," said Alderson.
In addition to Fakunle, the T-wolves have also added Nicolas Favia of Surrey and Darin Kamsteeg of Victoria to its roster for the 2013 season.
