A long-term dream for the Prince George Ice Oval Society is having a year-round facility.
Kathy Lewis, president of the society, said for now, due to the cost, putting down cement on the oval will remain a dream.
"It would be great to make it into a facility that people could roller blade on or the ski team could go out and do dry land training there," said Lewis. "It's not in my plans any ways and I don't think anybody else is thinking about that either.
"I just know that cement is very expensive and that's a very large area - [it would] probably cost in the hundreds of thousands of dollars."
Lewis said another thing they'd like to do someday is put cooling tubes underneath the cement, which would help with meltdowns when the weather warms
during the winter months.
