Residents in the Hart can expect outages of up to an hour as crews are going through eight weeks of maintenance work on B.C. Hydro powerlines. Three crews are working from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Single vehicle accident

There was a single vehicle accident that took place about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon at the corner of Highway 16 West and Cowart Road. Traffic was backed up the highway while crews worked to clear the road after the accident.

Man dies after car collides with moose

A 38-year-old Vanderhoof man is dead after his car hit a moose on Highway 16 west near Telechick Road on Saturday. The man was transported to the University of Northern British Columbia Hospital where he remained in critical condition.

Shane Unake Hawkins has been found and is safe at home. The missing 15-year-old had been unaccounted for since July 20, but arrived home safely on Monday, said Prince George RCMP spokesman Gary Godwin. "He was brought home by a friend.
