YXS applauds plan to nix jet fuel tax

A provincial government promise, made Tuesday, to eliminate the jet fuel tax for international flights will help sell Prince George as a place for cargo carriers to land, says Prince George Airport Authority chief executive officer John Gibson.

A provincial government promise, made Tuesday, to eliminate the jet fuel tax for international flights will help sell Prince George as a place for cargo carriers to land, says Prince George Airport Authority chief executive officer John Gibson.

The move is subject to the approval of the legislature and international carriers signing agreements that will see expansion of flights to Vancouver International Airport, but Prince George will still benefit according to Gibson because it will apply to all jet fuel sold across B.C.
