The medical profession is a tough one, but here's how you can make it a little easier for those learning.

Prince George's College of New Caledonia (CNC) is asking for donations of gently used scrubs, as the uniforms and scrubs are required for health sciences.

The donations are then sold at the school's biannual scrub sale, which this year will be on Oct. 7, 2019.

Proceeds then go to CNC's "Making a Difference Bursary" which has provided more than $10,000 to students that are in need.

Last year, the sale actually raised enough to fund two more bursaries on top of the five that are already given out each year.

Scrubs can be dropped off until Oct. 4 at the school library or the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation office at the University Hospital of Northern B.C.

Any scrubs donated must be in washed and in usable condition.

“We’re so thankful to the community for both donating and buying scrubs,” said Nancy Esopenko, instructor of CNC’s Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program in a release. “We’re hoping to repeat last year’s success but we need your gently used scrub donations to do it. Every scrub donated benefits a student by not only providing scrubs to wear at an economical but also funding bursaries.”

The school adds there is a particular need for extra-small, small, and medium-sized scrub tops and bottoms.

The sale itself will take place on Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Gathering Place at the Prince George CNC Campus.
