A well-known local business owner has once again stepped up to help with the YMCA of Northern B.C.'s annual MEGATHON.
John Brink helped kickoff the 2020 event with a donation of $3,000 to the Prince George cause.
“Brink is a remarkable community partner; they are a true leader when it comes to supporting health and wellness in our community," Director of Communications and Philanthropy with Northern B.C. YMCA Stephanie Deol says.
"Their involvement with YMCA MEGATHON is responsible for its success. It’s this type of support that is instrumental in helping us achieve our philanthropic goals."
The MEGATHON is set for Saturday, Mar. 7, 2020.

“It is a privilege for The Brink Group to once again be title sponsor of the annual YMCA MEGATHON," CEO and President of Brink John Brink says.
"This is our third year in a row supporting this outstanding annual fundraiser. I’ve always been impressed with the hard-working YMCA team and various fundraising they do; our goal is to work with the team at the YMCA of Northern BC to continue setting records with MEGATHON – in both money fundraised and participation. I’d like to encourage the entire community to come out and support this special event.”
The goal for 2020 is $15,000, $5,000 more than last year, where they surpassed that goal and raised over $12,000.
The annual fundraising goal is $60,000 by Aug. 31, 2020.
The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign allows one in five children and families to receive financial assistance to participate in YMCA camps and programs such as subsidized membership, YMCA Camp Kanannaq and Aurora Leadership, as well as YMCA Beyond the Bell.
