WorkSafeBC levied fines against Prince George two businesses in December after employees failed to use safe practices while working on roofs.
MPM Projects Inc. was fined $5,000 after officers saw three workers - including a representative of the business - on the roof of a three-storey home without fall protection in place even though harnesses were found on the worksite.
And Arctic Roofing (P.G.) Ltd. was fined $2,500 after two workers were seen on a two-storey roof without fall protection.
"They were installing shingles on the leading edge of the roof with multiple tripping hazards, exposing them to the risk of falling 5.1 m (16.8 ft.)," the agency said in an online posting.
Both were repeat and high-risk violations, WorkSafeBC said.
