WorkSafeBC has fined Prince George-based Morris Roofing $5,000 for failing to use personal fall protection systems while on a job.
An inspector came across three workers - one of them a supervisor - re--roofing a house and its attached carport without safety gear in place. They were exposed to falls of three to four metres (10 to 14 feet).
Also, the job site lacked a first aid kit and attendant, the inspector found.
"These were repeated violations, and the lack of fall protection was a high-risk violation," WorkSafeBC said in a posting on its website.
The fine was imposed on Dec. 7 and the item posted on Feb. 29.
Correction: An earlier version of this story didn't include the company's name. It has been updated to include Morris Roofing.
