The city's workload for rezoning applications, development permits and variance permits has declined but so has the time it's taken to process them, according to a staff report to city council.
In 2007, staff dealt with 70 rezoning applications and it took an average 17.4 weeks to get them to the first reading stage. That total dropped to 24 applications and 13 weeks in 2008 and to 22 applications and 9.4 weeks in 2009.
