Work to start on new airport restaurant

The process of updating the restaurant at the Prince George Airport is about to begin.

Renovations to bring in BG's Urban Grill and two retail spaces will start on Monday and to accommodate construction, the restaurant and lounge will be closed starting Saturday.

Automated food and beverage services featuring fresh food provided by Eurest Services will relocate to the Power Up Business Centre in the terminal's departures area.

Dishes like lasagne, salads, wraps and chicken pot pies which will be stocked daily.

"Although I am concerned with the brief disruption in services, the long term benefits will outweigh the short term inconvenience," Prince George Airport Authority CEO John Gibson said in a statement.

BG Urban Grill offers a "European culinary experience that is focused on innovative meal creations." Hot grilled sandwiches, cakes, tarts and a variety of "globally inspired entrees" are on the menu and the restaurant will also offer a range of coffee blends and beverage offerings.

The work should be finished by the end of March.
