Paving season is about to begin in Prince George.

City crews will be out next week starting work on the first of 16 road and five sidewalk rehabilitation projects.

They will start with Highway 97 frontage road between Martin Road and Sabyam Road; Glenview Drive between Eden Drive and the north end of Glenview; Eden Drive between Taft Drive and Dawson Road and the entire length of Toombs Drive.

Weather pending, they're slated for completion by May 16.

The budget for road rehabilitation projects this year is roughly $5.3 Million, while the budget for sidewalk rehabilitation is about $1.2 Million.

The biggest projects are Cowart Road and Foothills Boulevard.

Drivers are asked to look for alternate routes whenever possible and to drive with caution around road crews.
