Delivering Christmas tidings to help those in need is a strain on the resources of the Salvation Army and it's essential to have reliable vehicle to get those donations of food, clothing and gifts into the right hands.
So when it became apparent the Salvation Arm's Prince George chapter fell short of funds and could not afford to buy those wheels, a local car dealership stepped up with a generous donation to solve the problem.
Wood Wheaton Honda manager Dave Smith had been on the lookout for a suitable vehicle the charity originally planned to purchase, but was told to put that search on hold until the Salvation Army could raise enough money.
Smith then took it upon himself to make it happen.
“Gifting the vehicle to The Salvation Army is not small miracle,” said Salvation Army Major Neil Wilkinson. “Our programs are growing and the need to attend to our transportation challenges has been a stressor. Now we have the ability to better meet the needs of the work of The Salvation Army in Prince George and Vanderhoof.”
