Wood pellet company to upgrade PG plant with new partner

Pacific BioEnergy Corp. has taken on French-based energy company GDF Suez as a minority owner to help support a $24-million expansion of its Prince George wood pellet plant. In addition to its minority interest, GDF Suez has contracted to purchase 2.

Pacific BioEnergy Corp. has taken on French-based energy company GDF Suez as a minority owner to help support a $24-million expansion of its Prince George wood pellet plant.

In addition to its minority interest, GDF Suez has contracted to purchase 2.5 million tonnes of wood pellets for its electrical generation facilities in Belgium during the next 10 years. The wood pellets are meant to replace about two million tonnes of coal in Belgium and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by four million tonnes.
