A woman is lucky to be alive after she was struck and "run over" by a train Monday night, police said.
The "heavily intoxicated" 46-year-old was trespassing on CN Rail property when she was hit near 1st Avenue and Dominion Street.
Prince George RCMP responded to the call at around 9 p.m. and the woman was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police believe she lay down between the tracks.
"It is not yet clear how long she was there before a train approached," said Tuesday's release, which also reminded residents that railway tracks are dangerous and private property.
