An Alberta woman who was arrested last month along with a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant was sentenced Monday to 57 days in jail for possession of stolen property.

Nashae Nickole Sowan, 29, was also sentenced to 45 days for possession of a controlled substance and to one year probation.

Sowan and David Allan Lenkewich, 29, were arrested Feb 16 when police and the Ministry of Transportation's commercial vehicle safety enforcement branch were conducting a road safety check on Highway 16 East.

A Canada-wide warrant had been issued for Lenkewich in relation to the dangerous operation of motor vehicle and numerous other charges stemming from an incident in Strathcona, Alberta, police said.

They were found driving a red Ford F350 and the cargo trailer, both reported stolen out of Alberta, according to RCMP.

Lenkewich's case remains before the court.
