Woman harassed on popular walking trail

Prince George RCMP are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man suspected of harassing a woman Monday afternoon while she was walking her dog along the Greenway trail near University of Northern British Columbia.

Prince George RCMP are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man suspected of harassing a woman Monday afternoon while she was walking her dog along the Greenway trail near University of Northern British Columbia.

The man allegedly propositioned the woman for sex then left after two other adults came by. The two escorted the woman back to her vehicle and the incident was reported to UNBC security who called police and searched the immediate area without success.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his early 20s, about 173 cm (5'8") tall and weighing about 68 kg (150 lbs) with short blonde or light brown hair.

Police are also asking those who are using the trails to:

- Wherever possible, walk with at least one other person you trust;

- Be aware of your surroundings including escape routes and other persons on the trail;

- Before going out, always tell someone where you will be;

- Bring a whistle or noise making device;

- Report any incidents to police as soon as possible.
