Prince George RCMP was called to an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven convenience store on Queensway during the early hours Wednesday.
The clerk there alleged a lone First Nations woman came in and demanded cigarettes and money. The woman, later identified as 34-year-old Sarah June Tom, allegedly said she had a knife.
The clerk allegedly handed over a pack of cigarettes and $30 in cash to the woman who then left the store.
A study of the store's surveillance cameras by police, provided a detailed description of the woman and her clothing which was passed on to other officers.
Armed with information that the female was in an apartment building on Juniper Street, police members attended and located a woman matching the description of the suspect who was in possession of the cigarettes and cash.
Tom was arrested without incident and charges of robbery have been approved and sworn. Tom was expected to appear in Prince George Provincial Court Wednesday.
Anyone with information about this or any other criminal offence is asked to call RCMP at 250-561-3300 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
