A Prince George man was arrested following a dangerous, high-speed incident on Highway 16.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, multiple Prince George RCMP and North District RCMP traffic services members responded to the area west of the city after getting a report of a vehicle being chased down the highway. The red Honda Civic was being rammed by a green Honda Accord, in an apparent attempt to force the Civic off the highway.
The suspect vehicle fled from police and was found stuck in a snow bank and abandoned on Telachick Road. Police Dog Service teams were used to locate a man a short distance away.
Nathen Tayler, 41, was arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault with a weapon, failure to stop for police and driving while disqualified.
Tayler is scheduled to appear in court later today.
No one was injured during the incident but it is "believed that these actions were due to a previous conflict between drivers and was not a road rage incident or a random act," said Cpl. Craig Douglass.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
