An estimated 3,000 people are set to take part in a three-day Jehovah's Witnesses district convention in Prince George this month.
The event begins Friday June 24, 9:20 a.m., at CN Centre. The conference is free to attend, with no collections taken, and all sessions throughout the weekend are open to the public.
Between now and June 24 Prince George's six congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses are making an extra effort to invite everyone in the community to attend the convention. In past year's events, almost a third of all attendees were not Jehovah's Witnesses.
The three-day convention will work to develop the theme "Let God's Kingdom come," by providing an assortment of programs and presentations that promise to explore the Bible. Each day will also include a Bible drama, with a full-costume performance on Sunday.
Across Canada, 42 conventions will be held in 22 cities. Worldwide there are more than 7.5 million Witnesses, an increase of almost 1.5 million people in the past 10 years.
