The 2015 Canada Winter Games (CWG15) organization added another key sponsor on Monday, especially for their public profiling efforts.
It was announced that CWG15 would partner with the Northern BC Tourism Association as their official tourism marketing agent.
"This is a very important milestone for our organization," said Stuart Ballantyne, CWG15 CEO. "A promise was made at the bid phase that the 2015 Games would reflect and involve northern B.C. We are proud to partner with the Northern BC Tourism Association to engage our region and help share a northern story with the nation in 2015."
Northern BC Tourism Association chair Victoria Olmstead said "This is a phenomenal opportunity to work with our regional stakeholders throughout Northern British Columbia to ensure they are engaged and involved in this magical event. Canada is coming to our region in 2015 and we want to make sure the nation witnesses and experiences the beauty and opportunities we have available."
One of the primary elements of the partnership will be collaboration on "a torch relay and community engagement program" said the two sides at the announcement Monday. They also said "regional promotional programs will be developed that will provide each participating community or tourism region, authentic and valuable programming."
