The parents of Marcus Huber are the winners of the Escape Your Wonderful Children contest presented by the Prince George Citizen and sponsored by Theatre North West, Ric's Grill and Royal Rose Limousine.
As you can see, it's a beautiful moment captured in time.
Dezene, Marcus' father, took the photo while the family, including mom, Joyel, were on vacation on Prince Edward Island last summer.
"The little guy was just sitting there -- he didn't like walking super-well yet and he loves flowers and nature and he was just sitting there inspecting the flower and my husband has a good eye," said Joyel. Marcus was 18 months when this photo was taken and just celebrated his second birthday recently.
People were asked to submit a photo of their wonderful children they wished to escape and the response was great with 82 entries in the contest, which ended March 31.
The editorial department staff at The Citizen made the tough decision of who would escape their wonderful children.
Dezene and Joyel Huber will receive two tickets to Theatre North West's last play of the season, Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun, a $100 gift certificate for Ric's Grill and a Royal Rose Limousine for the evening out.
Because we saw that Cassandra Kragt is such a going concern (see photo) the staff at the Citizen wishes to extend a runner up prize of a $50 gift certificate to Ric's Grill to Connie and Ernie, her parents. Cassandra is the youngest of five and mother Connie said she is grateful for the treat.
The Citizen wishes to thank all the parents who entered the contest and especially the lovely grandparents who were thoughtful enough to submit their grandchildren's photos so the parents of all those wonderful children could have a night off while they volunteered to take care of the kids.
