Wind storm knocks out power

Over 1,000 BC Hydro customers in the Mud River area west of Prince George were without power on Monday afternoon and evening due to a wind storm. Power was interrupted just after 2 p.m.

Over 1,000 BC Hydro customers in the Mud River area west of Prince George were without power on Monday afternoon and evening due to a wind storm.

Power was interrupted just after 2 p.m. for 1,107 customers located south of Takla Forest Road all the way past Highway 16. The electricity provider anticipated the power would be restored by 11 p.m.

BC Hydro reported outages for a handful of other customers in the region also due to wind damage, bringing the total number of customers without power in the Prince George area to about 1,300.
