Willowcale Road at Haggith Creek was reopened to single-lane alternating traffic on Friday.
The stretch had been closed for about six months to allow installation of a bridge in answer to sloughing after culvert beneath the road had deteriorated to the point where it caused erosion.
It will be completely reopened later this spring once paving has been completed.
The reopening significantly reduces commuting times for people employed at businesses in that area.
