Lowering the speed limit for nighttime winter driving where moose tend to be found is among the measures being touted as part of a public consultation process on wildlife management and habitat conservation.
The public is being asked to provide their thoughts on the idea and many others through the process which is being hosted by the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development.
"This consultation is important for many here in the central interior, as the results can potentially impact many aspects of wildlife management in the foreseeable future," an MFLNRO official said.
The public is invited to provide input online, by email, or by written submission.
The FLNRORD website provides more detail on how to comment. As well, a discussion paper, "Improving Wildlife Management and Habitat Conservation in British Columbia," has been produced and and is posted at engage.gov.bc.ca/wildlifeandhabitat.
The comment period ends on July 31.
